1989 - Michael Jackson won the Best R&B/Urban Contemporary Single, Male and Best R&B/Urban Contemporary Music Video categories at the third annual Soul Train Music Awards

2002 - Michael Jackson addressed the shareholders of MDP Worldwide Entertainment via a videotaped message. Jackson explained his vision and plans for the type of feature films he hoped to produce under the Neverland Pictures banner.

1984 - "Weird Al" Yankovic's parody "Eat It" hit #12 in the U.S.

2004 - It was reported that a new allegation of child molestation had arisen against Michael Jackson. The 18-year-old man was reported molested in the late 1980's in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Police Department began investigating the allegations after receiving a tip from the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office. Jackson's lawyers said that the allegations appeared to be unfounded.

2004 - A California appeals court rejected a request by several news agencies to lift a gag order placed on the parties in the Santa Barbara County child molestation case against Michael Jackson.

1984 - Michael Jackson went into surgery in Los Angeles. Doctors performed scalp surgery to repair damage done after Jackson's hair caught fire during the filming of a Pepsi commercial on January 27.

2004 - The Los Angeles Police Department released a statement saying that it was contacted by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office in March regarding allegations of child abuse against Michael Jackson. The charges came from an 18-year-old who claimed that he had been molested for six years starting when he was three years old. On June 2, it was announced that no evidence was found to support the charges. The case was unrelated to the case based out of Santa Barbara, CA.

1997 - A wax statue of Michael Jackson was unveiled at Paris' Grevin Museum of Wax.

1996 - Michael Jackson's single "They Don't Care About Us" debuted at #4 in the U.K.

2002 - Michael Jackson performed "Dangerous" at the taping of the "American Bandstand 50th Anniversary" TV special. He performed the song a second time because he was not pleased with his performance.

2004 - The Los Angeles Times reported that conspiracy and obstruction of justice charges were being considered against several associates of Michael Jackson. The charges were for allegedly threatening the family of the boy who accused Jackson of molestation.

2004 - In Santa Barbara, CA, Michael Jackson was indicted by a grand jury after they found there was suffidient evidence to bring charges against him for molestation. Jackson was scheduled to be arraigned on April 30 where he was expected to plead not guilty.

2003 - In California, the Santa Barbara County Assessor's Office decided that Michael Jackson did not qualify for an agricultural preservation tax break on his Neverland Ranch.

2004 - It was reported that Michael Jackson had dropped his current legal team (Mark Geragos and Benjamin Brafman) in his child molestation case in favor of Thomas Mesereau Jr.

1984 - In Philadelphia, the radio station WWSH broadcasted a "No Michael Jackson" weekend in protest of his airwave saturation over the last years.

1984 - Michael Jackson returned to the hospital for further scalp and facial laser surgery stemming from the burns he received filming a Pepsi commercial.

2005 - In the Michael Jackson child-molestation trial, Deborah Rowe testified for the prosecution.

2005 - In California, an appellate court said that the judge in the Michael Jackson child molestation trial was right to seal dozens of records. The court said the judge had successfully balanced Jackson's right to a fair trial and the public's right to know.

1993 - Michael Jackson received the Caring For Kids Award at the Children's Choice Awards.

2005 - A judge in a civil lawsuit against Michael Jackson denied a request to place a lien on Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch. The suit was filed by F. Marc Schaffel, a former producer and business associate of Jackson. Schaffel claimed that he was owed $3 million in loans and producing fees.
